RESEARCH ON IMPACT STUDY

It is expected that our program would bring a change in the behavior and attitudinal approach of students which we are trying to express in statically form. For this, we have decided to observe and collect the data through different quantitative medium. It is very important to analyze the raw data to find out the weakness and strength for further improvement regarding the concept.
Hence, research will be done to study the impact on the behavior and attitude of the students regarding Green Zone and Climate Hero.
For this research activity, we will collect data through climate hero from each schools and colleges. Data collection will be done in different ways and forms. They can be as follows:
1)      No. of students participating in green zone activity i.e coming with solution.
2)      Through questionnaires
3)      Through survey
4)      Interviews
5)   Through the activity done by students inside and outside the schools and colleges
It will be analyzed by the statistical tool such as SPSS and some others by researcher and experts.

We will present our research article in different national and international media under the authorization of Clean Green Nepal Campaign.

Climate Hero

Climate Hero of School
Climate Hero refers to the student who will be committed and understanding towards the environmental issue. From every school and college we will choose one student as a climate hero. On the basis of following criteria, student will be eligible to apply for the Climate Hero from each school:
1)      S/he must be reading in grade 9 or 10.
2)      S/he must have 55% marks in internal and final exam.
3)      S/he must be understanding and committed towards the environmental work.
 We will take help of school management to finalize the final list of climate hero from each school respectively. After getting the list of student we will organize one day workshop for the finalist students. Then at the end of workshop, we will declare one student as a Climate Hero from each school.
Climate Hero of Bhairahawa
Climate Hero of Bhairahawa is the important aspect and concept of Green Bhairahawa which will help students to initiate, lead and learn from their level to organize different kind of activities regarding current environment issues.
Climate Hero of Bhairahawa” will be one among the climate hero’s from different schools/colleges. Selection process of Climate Hero will be done in three different process:
1st: Creativity Test
In first level selection process. We will test the creativity of the climate hero’s by organizing “Essay Competition on Environment related Issues” and “Workshop on their Vision” among them.  It will help us to know the knowledge and understanding of the climate hero’s for environment issues. On the completion of this activity, we will choose 75% of the climate hero’s for next round.


2nd: Interview
In second round we will interview the climate hero’s to know their commitment and enthusiastic towards the responsibility of ECO-Club. Before the interview participant have to answer certain question in written form within 24 hour. Which will help to know the personal skills and interests of the participant. After the completion on interview, 30% of participants will be taken as a finalist for “Climate Hero of Bhairahawa”.
3rd: Oratory Competition
In third round participants have to make power point presentation on reasons for aspiring to be climate hero. While presenting they will be evaluated by judges (who will be from GoN, Press Union, and Social activist). Audience vote will be given weightage of 30% whereas judge’s evaluation will be given weightage of 70%.
Responsibility of Climate Hero
Climate Hero is a special position. The student who will take the responsibility should be pioneer to take initiative locally for the ideas implementation and organizing the environment related activity and workshop.
Climate Hero of school have to inform us about the progress of Green Zone in their school.
Impact and Sustainability
Climate Hero is designed to empower the students towards the protection of environment locally. It will motivate student to take steps in the new direction of environment protection.

Climate Hero’s from each and every school will be member of ECO-Club. Climate Hero of Bhairahawa will be the president of the ECO-Club. Their working period will be of one year. After one year new members will be selected to fulfill the roles and responsibilities regarding ECO-Club for another one year.

Green Zone

In the society, there are two groups of people one who effect and neglect the environment. And other group who are facing the consequences i.e. students. So, we need to aware these two groups of people.
Green Zone is an event which is the central idea of Green Bhairahawa and the concept which can help to bring sustainable change in the behavior and attitude of students. Students are the leader of the future. So they should be aware about the effect and consequences of climate change that would start showing some effect sooner.
When we were student, our most of the productive time was with our friends while talking, laughing, playing and discussing with them in playground. So, in this event we will place a board in one corner of playground where it would be visible, suitable and permitted by school management.
The green board will contain three section heading with effect, consequences and solution regarding environment issues. First two section will represent effect and consequences on the current environmental issues of Bhairahawa given by experts respectively. But the solution section of green board will be blank because of the following reasons:
1)      We don’t want follower. We want Climate Hero.
2)       When they will come with solution they will talk with their friends about it and try to discuss.
3)      We want solution from students independently on their own daily experiences. Later on which can help us to know the local problem.
4)      When students will read the effect and consequences about the environment. They will try to relate those thing with their own activities. And as a solution they will write opposite of their activities which they are doing to pollute the local environment and the thing which they are not following to protect the environment.

Impact
When the student will write solution to control environment pollution. They will say their friend about the solution and ultimately s/he will be discussing about the solution with his friends. One side, it will help them to build leadership capabilities and the other side they will be implementing that solution in his/her daily life directly or indirectly through continuous observation of the solution written by him.
For instance: If Ram writes “I will only throw sweet wrapper in dustbin” in solution section of green board. Then on first day when he will buy sweet and throw the sweet wrapper on road. At that time, he will not think about the sweet wrapper. But he will remember his mistake when he see his solution on green board next day.
After that whenever he will buy sweet, he will think twice before throwing sweet wrapper. Finally he will be motivated towards throwing sweet wrapper and other things in dustbin.

Sustainability
 To encourage and motivate the students to participate in the “Green Zone” we will announce a local competition “Best Green Zone school of Bhairahawa”. In which student have to maintain clean and green area inside their school and college. At the end of the year, we will give the award to one school who will be continuous involve in making and maintaining their school area clean and green.
